Mandan Invitational

The Mavericks took 2nd in the Mandan Invitational today.  They played a great first half, and a not so great 2nd half.

Jonathan missed the shot, but was fouled and sent to the free throw line

 He sunk them both!
Eric earned a medal for 'younger sibling entertainer'

Birthday celebration #2

We had a belated b-day celebration w/Gma and Gpa LaFleur this weekend.  We meant to go up to Minot 2 weeks ago, but cancelled because of the weather.   Gma brought down a princess b-day cake.  Megan loved it.

The cake was really really yummy...it is almost all gone.

Basketball Math

4 games + 0 losses = 1 championship + 8 very happy boys

They beat the Magic City Magicians earlier today  22, and then beat Rough Justice by 18 for the championship.   The boys were all thrilled.
Another tournament next weekend.  This one is sponsored by the Mandan Girls' Basketball Club.

BSC tourney

Jonathan's team had 2 games today in the Bismarck State College Youth B-ball tourney.  They played Rough Justice first-a team that is always competitive and one the Mavericks have barely beat the last 2 tourneys.  RJ took the lead early and led most of the game.  The Mavericks finally started hitting their shots and rebounding better in the 4th quarter, and won by 10.  Our second game was against the Mandan Storm, which is actually a 3rd grade team.  Mavericks won 50-8.  Jonathan started that game, and had a lot of playing time.  He ended with 10 rebounds, 6 points, 4 assists, and 2 steals.  His first points of the game were a fast break layup as the buzzer sounded ending the first half.

Tomorrow they play the Magic City Magicians.  It's a double elimination tournament, so they will have at least 2 games to play tomorrow.
Here are some of the finishing touches on Megan's room

We added a string of purple lights.  I have some flower garland as well, but it is too short, so I need to get some more.  Some may think purple lights strung along the wall is over the top.  Not Megan.

This is the effect of the new room

Cats

It is hard to admit, but we have become Cat People.  The kids no longer ask for a dog. Our 2013 calendar is a cat themed calendar, and the cats also had a stocking of treats from Santa.  They are pretty darn cute, though.

One of Trudy's favorite napping spots, assuming it is not filled with books from Megan's room
Kacy could not wait for me to fill her food dish, so she just went to the source herself

 Watching the snow falling

I can relate to the need to yawn at 3pm

Both cats like me the best, which has its perks and its negatives.

Birthday fun

The Miller side of the Fam was in Mandan for a late Christmas/Megan's birthday/Jonathan basketball celebration extravaganza.  We had a Pete The Cat themed birthday brunch for Megan.  She was downright giddy with excitement for her birthday.  S

Opening Jelly Belly Uno from Gma and Gpa
An African American Ken doll was in this package!  Princess Tiana no longer needs to be in a bi-racial relationship with Malibu Ken
Legos from Mom and Dad.  She was kind enough to share with Eric
Representing the 'Brown Shoes" from Pete the Cat was the hot cocoa station and coffee

Representing the Blue Shoes is Blueberry Muffins
Thought I uploaded the Yogurt Parfait station, which represented the Red Shoes, but I didn't

Having fun with Tiff at J's game
