The Bucket

This is a bucket that originally served popcorn to Don and the boys when the saw The Hobbit in the movie theaters over Christmas vacation.  It's a souvenier bucket.  I'm sure it cost more money.  We have kept it, and serve our own popcorn in it.
This is Megan.  She complained of her tummy hurting yesterday morning just as we were leaving for school. I thought she'd be fine, so I dropped her off at school.
This is an alternate use for The Hobbit souvenier popcorn bucket.  It was used by Megan 9 times yesterday.  The garbage can in her classroom was used as well, prior to the school calling me to come pick her up.
This is how Megan spent the majority of her day today.  She hasn't needed the bucket today, but still has a fever.

The Blizzard

A little blizzard blew threw the Bismarck-Mandan area yesterday.  We were ready for it.
This is Sunday morning around 7 am

We were curious how much snow we had, so Don threw Kacy in the snow bank.  At Noon, we had ~12".
 Don't worry.  She loved it.
 Eric did some tanagram puzzles.
Megan pouted when she was forced to play Apples to Apples
 Our deck was accumulating snow
Don broke out the snow blower.  Very thankful we have it!
This is the side along our driveway.
I added the soccer cone for a better reference to where the top of the snow was
The boys played some Story Cubes once we were done cleaning the driveway out.
Then Eric did some browsing on E-bay for a lego figure he has been saving up his dollars for
Kacy is not allowed on the kitchen table.  Since it was a snow day, we let that rule slide.
Then Don did another snow accumulation test

 This was taken after supper

This is the end of our driveway this morning.  Glad school was cancelled!!!

This is our new best friend.
We like to push the limits of child labor laws.

Don also tossed the boys in the snow bank. Kacy  is not alone.
Kacy took a turn going sledding down the front lawn.

Grand Forks Jr Grand Am

Last weekend we went to Grand Forks for the Jr Grand Am basketball tournament.  There were 26 teams in the 4th grade boys division.  We were all pretty excited for the trip.  It was fun to take the kids through the UND campus and show them all of my hangouts.
Yummy.  This is the newer Red Pepper.  It's actually clean on the inside.
First game against the West Fargo Hurricanes.  It was played at the Wellness Center.

The Mavericks won by 14 points or so.  We were told by a parent on a different WF team that the Hurricanes do not lose much.

This is the Betty Englestad Sioux Center, where the UND basketball games are played.  We didn't get the chance to play in there.
2nd game played at South Middle School against the Grand Forks Basket Hounds.  The Mavericks won by a safe margin.  Jonathan got a lot of play time in this game, and scored 4 points.
 Pivoting before taking a shot
Score!!!!  (at least I think this was one of his made baskets)
The Alerus Center, where they played their 3rd game.  The boys were awestruck.  They lost that game by 3...heartbreaker!  I did not take any pictures, as my hands were needed for cheering.
We stopped to see Kayla on our way to GF.  Yes, my pictures are not being posted in order.  I don't know how to rearrange them once I upload them.

This is where Eric plans to spend his college years.  He is so excited, and totally hooked on UND.  Brainwash success!!

My old home!  Doesn't look like it's been kept up very well.
A Mexi burger and taco burger from the Red Pepper.
