Freeze or Fry

We were in Minot this past weekend for the Freeze or Fry meet.  Eric was swimming in the 50 and 100 Free and Back.  Megan signed up for those events, too, as well as the 50 and 100 Fly, and the 50 Breast.  Most of the weekend was "Fry", but there was a little bit of "Freeze" late Saturday when the storm clouds came in.  They had to postpone the last 2.5 events on Saturday due to weather.  They started Sundays meet where they left off, and skipped the relays to save time.  Megan ended up scratching her 100 Back, which should have been on Saturday-She didn't want to do 5 events in one day, especially with the 100 Fly being her last event of the day.

 8 Marlins swimmers competed Saturday
How fun-beach buckets for lane markers
Getting ready for the 200 Medley relay.  Eric did the 1st leg/backstroke

 Megan's 50 Free!
 Eric starting the 50 Free
No electronic score clock here-wish there would have been, as I love how he looks up for his time when he is done with each event.

 50 Fly
50 Free.  Eric qualified for State in the 50 Free, 100 Free, and 50 Back!  I think the relay qualified as well.  Below is the pic of Eric when his coach told him he qualified in the 50 Free. The slip of paper in his hand is a coupon for a free icee.  When you when your heat, that's your prize.  He got 3!
After the meet, we went to Grandma and Grandpa's.  Tyler and Family also were up for the weekend.  We had fun around a bonfire after supper roasting marshmallows and making s'mores.

A fun, and tiring, weekend!  Next meet is July 7-8.  Eric needs to cut ~4 sec in his 100 Back to qualify for state, and Megan is 4.71 seconds away from qualifying in the 50 Free.  She dropped 4-9 seconds in 6 of her events, and ~ 1/2 second in the 7th event.

They work hard for the money

Both boys will be employed at the waterpark this summer.  Eric as a lifeguard, Jonathan in guest services (concessions, tickets, and slides).
I told Eric he can only accept 3 phone numbers from girls per shift.  He did not get any numbers yesterday, but one boy did tell him that his sister wanted to know what his name was.

Piano

Megan completed 4 years of piano lessons last week.  She is moving on to percussion/band next year.  We luv Mrs. C, and will miss her!

Last Days...a little late

Forgot to post these-the boys finished on the 23rd (didn't' have to take finals, so finished 2 days early).  Megan and I were done on the 25th!
