The Pumpkin Patch

I took the kids to the Pumpkin Patch after school today.  Because of the flood, the Patch was moved to Mandan for the next few seasons.  It's a little smaller, but we loved that it only took us 5 minutes to get there instead of 25 minutes.  The kids' favorite part was the zip line.  It normally costs $1 for 2 rides, but today they just let the kids go for free.  Megan was too scared to use the big one, so she stuck with the little kid one.

The Pumpkin Patch dog, Sandy, followed us the majority of the time.  She took a strong liking to me for some reason, making it very difficult to get a pic of the kids with her.  She was very friendly.

The Swarm

The Swarm started their season with a win!  We faced the Longhorns.  There was extra motivation to win, as this is the team that stole our first choice of team name. Both boys had fun. Eric is #9, Jonathan is #3.  They both played Tight End/Cornerback, and at times lined up as a linebacker.

Grandma and Granpda's House

We made a quick trip to Minot today to help Grandma and Grandpa with unpacking in their new home. Megan loves the house because she thinks the outside is pink (it's more of a peachy-beige, but who am I to argue with her).  The kids (and I) all love the inside.  It's an older house, but underwent some upgrades a few years ago.

Megan was the bun helper this trip. The boys enjoyed playing with the dogs again, and Jonathan was thrilled to learn the neighbors behind Gma and Gpa have not one, but 2 Huskies.
We drove by the 'old' neighborhood on our way out of town.
I took this picture standing in Don and Kathy's driveway.  You can just make out the bridge that crosses the Souris.
This is part of the playground on the West side of Erik Ramstad school, which is 1/2 block North of Don and Kathy's.  The kids used to play here.  The view below is the south side of the school.

F-double O-T-B-A-double L

Here are some pics from football mini-camp a few weeks ago.  If they are blurry, it's because of the lightening speed of my boys.

Wimpy Kid

The boys are hooked on the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.  I started reading it with them a few years ago, but they were not at all in to it.  But now they are.   Jonathan has read all 5 books since the first week of school.  Eric is on the second one.  We have pre-ordered the 6th book.

Another week w/no pictures

The boys have had a few weeks of football practice.  Their first game is on Saturday.  Jonathan will be lining up as a tight end on offense and corner back on D.  Eric will play offensive guard and linebacker.  He will be the first 72 pound offensive guard in the history of Mandan flag football league.  Their nickname in soccer is The Twin Towers.  So far in football, the coach calls them the bookends.  I think I will get the giggles watching them on Saturday.
Megan is enjoying pre-school.  Her favorite part is the sparkly shoes she gets to wear on preschool days.  Today she realized that since she will be at school on Friday afternoons, she won't go with Dad to Sam's club on Fri afternoons anymore.  Bummer.
The trip to DisneyWorld is booked.  The kids talk about it daily.  Only 7 months, 2 weeks to go.
