We had our first Pack mtg as Wolf Scouts last weeks. Jonathan was awarded his belt loops for archery, BB gun, bicycling, soccer, and chess. Eric was awarded belt loops for archery, BB gun, bicycling, and soccer. They should have a few more to add by the next Pack mtg as well.

straight hair

For kicks, I thought I would straighten Meg's hair last night, just to see how long it really was. She had fun with it, and thought she was a rock star.

stupid google

I tried and tried and tried to upload some pictures last night. Stupid (yes...I am saying stupid and I know it's a bad word) Google wouldn't let me log on because of some stupid stuff because they now require a google account to access and blah blah blah blah blah.....
Finally this morning I was able to log on, but now I have to go to work.
I might switch to the Shutterfly blog to punish Google for making me so frustrated.....

Tuesday

Soccer game tonight...Black vs Blue. It was a pretty even match. Both boys scored a goal or two...I think. My friend Jeremy from High School was in town, so he came with to cheer.

Megan is going through a night owl stage. Our options at naptime are to give her a nap, and have a very happy, talkative, friendly little girl be wide awake until 10:30-11 at night, or no nap and have a very crabby girl from 4-9 pm....we take the happy girl. Our "routine" is after the boys go to bed, Megan sneaks into our bed when I go to bed, and we watch "Good Eats" and "Unwrapped" on Food Network. She also likes "Chopped" and "Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives...." She talks non stop and to anyone within the range of her voice.

Jonathan has been fine tuning his debate skills. Always has dissenting opinion and commentary on what is being discussed. He is always quite logical with his discussion. I see Law School in his future.

Eric. Eric. Eric. I wonder how many times we say his name each day. He has such a kind soul, and such a short temper. He had to "pull a card" for the first time last week. First time of his educational career...this was very stressful to him. His offense was not writing his name on an assignment. He was in worry mode for the rest of the evening....very worried that he would repeat the mistake again the next day. It was the first think he thought of when he woke up the next morning. He was so worried, I had to take him to talk to his teacher about it before school started. She told him the same things that I did, but it seemed to mean more coming from her. Right now, he is cuddled up by me in bed, worried that he will forget to write his name again. Megan is cuddled up next to him. We are watching "chopped", and will follow with "Good Eats"

Fun w/Science

Jonathan ordered a science kit from the most recent book order at school. The boys made floating snot and a volcano the other night. Don't worry, the floating snot was just showing how oil and water don't mix, and the volcano was just a carbon dioxide reaction that happens when you add vinegar to baking soda....

Soccer

Soccer is in full swing again. Games are Tuesdays and Saturdays. We think Team Orange is stacked. We play them tomorrow. As with last season, Jonathan needs to have his tongue sticking to play effectively.

Really gross pictures

***GROSS PICTURES OF MY FEET....VIEW AT OWN RISK***

I am training for a half marathon. 13.1 miles. It is 9 days away. I have been training for this event since early June. Prior to this, I was training for a marathon relay. All in all I have been in training mode for the last 9 months. My weekly mileage has increased from 10 miles to just over 20 miles a week. I have needed physical therapy. I have spent lots of money on comfortable clothes and running products that make running more bearable. I have consumed lots of water. I have learned that it takes me nearly as long to prepare for a long run as it does to go out of town with the kids. I have learned that I may just prefer running in Winter than Summer. I have learned that I would rather look silly and wear running pants than suffer with chaffing. I have learned that running really is a mental game. I have learned that it is okay to be really slow. I have learned that my first 2 miles are harder than my last 2 miles. And, perhaps most importantly, I have learned that my feet are sadly now uglier than my Husband's....

I earned that ugly blood blister while running 11 miles on Sunday evening. Funny, I had no pain with it. I felt the blister below it around mile 5. PTs love this stuff. My children (and husband) were not as amused with it as I was.

Ever...something Park

We spent Labor Day weekend in Park Rapids. There is a little amusement park a few miles north of town. It used to be called "World of Christmas"...now it is called something that starts with "ever....Everglades???? Evergreen??? The boys enjoyed the climbing wall and bungee jumper. The maze was fun in theory, but both boys had to cheat to get out. Megan got to "drive" her own race care. Both Don and I hope her driving skills improve.

Trip to Minot

We made a roadtrip up to Minot a few weeks ago for a very late celebration of the boys' birthday. The boys spent the day assembling the Lego sets they got. Megan spent the day playing with the Barbie doll she got. All kids were happy.
