Christmas eve and Day

Christmas Eve Snow shoeing

Since there has been lots of snow the past few weeks, I thought I'd break out the ol' snow shoes.  I took Rushmore to Sunset Park trails.  He was in Heaven.  He loves the snow-the deeper the better.  He randomly will stick his head into the snow and shake it.  I kept him on his leash, as I don't trust him for off leash walking yet.

He is all tuckered out.

BHS tourny

J had a bball tourny last Sunday.  They won their first 2 games by safe margins.  Championship game was more physical and competitive, but they won!  We played Warrior Pride for the championship game.  We have played them many times, and have always won.  They are quick and scrappy.  They don't have a lot of height on their team, but they are good 3 point shooters.  We heard a rumor they got a new player.  A big player.
This is their new player standing next to Jacob.

Band/Choir Winter concert

The boys had their winter concert last week, and Jonathan had his choir concert last night.
Eric on the snare.  This pic was taken by the Band Booster photographer.
Show choir performance.  This was my favorite part of the concert.
I thought I was videotaping this song.  It was heavy on the polka theme.  Near the end of the song, Jonathan and some other kid have to lift up Suzy Snowflake.  This is when I realized I wasn't video recording the song.  Glad I was able to get a pic!
J and his choir teacher.  He had a little solo in one of the first songs.  He didn't tell me about it :-).
J is on the left playing his bari sax.

O Christmas Tree

The kids took care of decorating the tree again this year.  I did not hang a single ornament.  Due to the dog, we did not place any ornaments on the lower third of the tree.  He has left it alone so far.  He has not left the tree skirt alone.  Don placed my Christmas gift under the tree.  Rushmore grabbed and chewed the box within 30 seconds.  We will wait on putting the presents under the tree until it's time to open them up.

Gingerbread house

Holly brought some gingerbread house kits for the kids to make.  They were a big hit!  The kids worked hard on them.  Kayla worked hard using all of the frosting up.  All of it.

We took 2 of the houses home (The van was packed since we brought the dog and had his kennel in the back).  I put both on display once we got home.  Rushmore was curious, and his curiosity knocked Megan's off the shelf.  There were tears.  Eric's has still survived so far.
