Memphis, TN

I am hanging out in Memphis for the weekend.  I am attending the pediatric PT national conference tomorrow through Sunday.  I arrived at the hotel at noon, so have had lots of time to roam around downtown.
I'm on the 5th floor.  This is the view out my window
This is the view if I turn my head to the right
And this is the view if I look down

This is where the Memphis Grizzlies play.  Their head coach used to coach the Dakota Wizards

The original ipod.  I coughed up $12 to take a tour of the Rock and Soul Museum.  It was cool.
Or was this the original ipod???

 Ike Turner's piano.
My lunch.  I ordered an extra big one, so I can have the other half for supper.

Soccer

Jonathan had his first soccer game as a 7th grader Labor Day weekend.  They played on of Horizon's teams, and won 6-0!  Jonathan played mid, and had an assist.  We were watching Huxley and Rennen, so Megan has something more fun to watch than soccer.
J has had 2 games since then, and won both.  He plays Wachter tonight.

Mandan's Universal Playground

This little playground had been in the works for the last 18 months or so.  It is the final project for a group of professionals in the community taking a leadership class.  Over $500,000 was raised in an span of 10 months or so.  The Mandan Park Board contributed as well.  It is located at the Eagle's Park by our house.  Look how tiny the dinosaur park is next to it!

This place is awesome.  Proud to have been on the planning committee, and I get teary eyed every time I drive by it.  It has been packed since it opened!

First Day 2015

The kids were thrilled to return to school this year :-).  Boys are 7th graders.  They have the same team of teachers, and have math class together.  Megan is 3rd grade.  She has the same teacher as Eric when he was a 3rd grader.

I did take a normal picture....but this one is more fun.

Slide the City

A few weeks ago, Mandan sponsored a Slide the City event.  A giant, multi block long inflatable water slide was set up along Sunset Drive.  Proceeds from the even to to the Universal playground.  We bought a family pass for 4-unlimited rides all day long.

I did not get pics of the boys. They mostly had fun, but not fun enough to stand in line again.  I think over $6000 was raised for the playground!
