Farm Grandpa

Today was Great Grandpa Flanigan's funeral. The kids have handled things pretty well. I think the hardest part for them was going to the farm after the funeral-they love playing there, and were pretty sad that we won't be able to visit Cherokee as much.
Eric grabbed a stick/piece of wood from the barn to bring home to remember Grandpa's farm.
The kids all had a blast playing with their Iowa cousins (and some of their Bismarck cousins that were also there).
Right now, we are staying in the Spongebob Suite at Country Inn and Suites in Watertown. We are the best parents ever.

Birthday celebrations

The kids and I went to Makoti yesterday to celebrate Jack and Sam's first birthday! It had been 4 months since I last saw them. They have changed a lot. They share a birthday with their Dad, which was an extra special birthday for him. Brian had his Home Health PT and OT there yesterday, so it was nice to visit with them about how to whip Brian back into shape. Josie was fun as ever, although she didn't seem too happy to see us when she got home from school yesterday. She eventually warmed up.
We unbunked the boys' beds this afternoon.
I will post new pictures soon. If only I had the Nikkor 55-200 mm VR lens for the Nikon D40....

Creationary

Last weekend we played one of our new favorite games, Creationary. It's like Pictionary, only you build with Legos instead of drawing pictures. Eric and I were on a team. Don and Jonathan were the other team. We were playing a non-competitive version (well, it was still competitive for Jonathan)-Don and J0nathan would guess what Eric and I were building, and vice versa. Don and Jonathan worked as a team-talking through what they wanted to use to build their challenge, building together, encouraging one another. Eric and I made a different type of team....Eric took full control of all assembly, would allow no input or help from me, and kept saying "No Mom I can do it by myself....No Mom I got it, I got it...." So, I just took pictures. Megan offered moral support to both teams.
