Saturday update

Ran a 10 K this am-it was for the Parkinson's Disease Support Group in Bismarck. I set a personal record...pretty easy to do since it was my first 10K. Three weeks until Fargo. It was nice to only have to run 6.2 miles this morning. Also happy that the wind was under 20 mph, and the rain didn't start until the last 0.25 mile of the race.

The boys had their first official soccer game of the year. I was too cold to take pictures. They did not win, but each scored 2 goals and had fun. Megan and I picked up McDonald's for lunch after the game. I just ordered a bunch of nuggets and cheeseburgers instead of Happy Meals. Megan referred to this as a 'sad meal'.

After lunch, we headed to the Bismarck Library for the boys' piano recital. They both played well.

The rest of the day was spent inside, wondering why there is a blizzard on April 30th.

The Easter Cup

The Easter Cup Soccer Championship was decided today in Park Rapids. It started as boys vs girls, but then Jason had to go the girl team when Macy bailed. According to Jonathan's score keeping, the boys won. We are pretty sure that the new and expensive soccer shoes the boys wore made them better players.

What? How did that happen?

Megan might just have a calling for her career...thanks Erika, Amy, and Holly for letting her give you all manicures.

Zoo, 2011

Megan and I took our first trip to the zoo of 2011. We met her BFF and my BFF. As always, the girls got all giggly and bouncy when they saw each other. There were lots of animals out. When we got to the zoo, Megan made it very clear that she was NOT going to walk by the Tigers. When we were leaving, I asked her what her favorite part of the zoo was....her answer???? The tigers.

GABR, pt 2

Today was the big Great American Bike Race (GABR). My team was called the "Spin Chicks". As of the start of the last rider, we were in the top 20 for miles pedaled (out of 100 teams). I pedaled 6.24 miles...well short of my goal, but they used newer spinning bikes this year, and the race officials announced at the start of the race that the new bikes won't spin as fast as the previous bikes. I kept pace with the gal next to me who is much younger and thinner, so I felt pretty good about that. My other glitch was my foot strap snapping off 5 minutes into the race. I lost about 3 minutes of pedaling because of that. The boys came with to be my "fans" (the have paper fans to wave) and hydration specialists. I took Megan in later in the day to cheer on some friends as well.
