Bedtime conversation, pt 2

I put Megan in her big girl bed at 8:30 tonight (she had a late nap, hence the late bedtime). We did the usual book reading, then I kissed her good night. Don and I could hear her talking away to her dolls for the next hour. Shortly after 10, her door cracks open (she has never come out of her room by herself before-she always waits for us to get her), and she comes running out- "I all done sleeping, I all done sleeping"

I'm going to sleep-Don can deal with her :-)

Bedtime conversation

Eric was up late last night. He finally came to cuddle with me at 10:45. We talked about school, how kindergarten is boring-er than preschool because it lasts too long and he has to do too many projects, how he is the only kid in the class not to pull a card this year (which means get into trouble). We went through the kids in the class and he told me reasons they have to pull a card. Apparently 4 girls all had to pull a card because they were pulling Eric apart-2 at the arms, 2 at the legs. He says they did this because he is so special and they all wanted to be with him.
Once we wrapped up the kindergarten conversation, Eric asks "So....what should we talk about now, dangerous insects?" He then proceeded to tell me about dangerous insects.
It will be worth his crabby mood today for how fun that conversation was.

March of Dimes

www.marchforbabies.org/dljeml

I am walking in the March of Dimes walk on May 16th. The path is 1 mile, so people can walk 1, 2, or 3 miles. I hope to bring the boys with. If you are interested in donating, you can click on the link and I think there is a place to donate online. Please do not feel obligated!

March of Dimes does wonders in preventing prematurtiy and helping babies/families who are premature.

Worm hunting

Our garden is now officially dry enough for the kids to roam in, which means worm hunting season officially began this afternoon. After 30 or so minutes of digging, we did find a lone, single, tiny worm. Not much organic fertilization happening in my garden, I guess.

Right Wing Extremists

Don and the boys went to Bismarck's Tea Party this afternoon, exercising their First Amendment right of free speech. No one was arrested. Don't be alarmed, the ripped sign was from the wind, not rioting. Eric wrote "No more taxes" in the bottom corner by all of his stars-his own idea.

71 degrees

Took advantage of the gorgeous day and played outside when we got home from school. Enjoyed our first outside ice cream cone of the 2009 season. The kids ran and ran outside. Mommy and Grandpa just sat and watched. Eric found a ladybug.

Tooth #3

Eric finally pulled his tooth out this am. It was just dangling. The new one has already cut through. One step closer to braces...

Happy Easter!

We had a fun Easter. Eric was bright eyed and ready to go by 6 am. He tried waking up Jonathan, but he preferred to sleep a bit longer. Meg stayed in bed until after 7. We didn't make it to Church-Mommy is still pretty sore and tired, but we did watch the children's Passion cartoon to celebrate the Resurrection. Grandma cooked a yummy, yummy meal. We were so happy to have her here. Grandpa will stay until Wednesday. He is never more than 3' from Megan, per her demand. The boys are happy that the Grandparents are sharing their Wii with us for a few weeks.

Easter Egg Hunt

We went to the annual Easter Egg Hunt at the zoo today. It was much better than last year. It started on time and lasted 30 seconds instead of 10. Megan was not too fond of the Easter bunny, but did have fun picking up a few eggs. Eric liked the Easter bunny a little too much-I didn't think he would ever stop hugging him.
