District 34

Don and I took the boys to the District 34 Republican Convention tonight.  We got to meet several of the candidates seeking nomination for the House, Senate, Governor, as well as PSC.  We got to visit with Uncle Dwight for a bit.  We mocked the Ron Paul people.  None of the other presidential candidates were represented.  We may have mocked some of them, too.

Eric wore a Ron Paul sticker, and grabbed his brochure and studied it carefully.  Eric seems to love Ron Paul.   The isolationist seems to love the isolationist. He did express concern that he looked too old to be President.

Don is a 2nd alternate to be a delegate at the State convention the last weekend of March.

Minot

We spent the day in Minot yesterday.  The kids were sufficiently spoiled with dolls, Legos, and Pokemon, and glazed donuts.  Kathy and I spoiled ourselves at the Gourmet Chef.  Jonathan is officially taller than Grandma.  Eric is very close.
This morning, Eric was cuddling with me.  He asked me how the alphabet was invented, and how they came up with using upper case and lower case letters.  Then he was quiet.  I asked him what he was thinking about.  He replied...."the future and how expensive robots will be."

Dreams in Motion

There is a group in Mandan that is working to bring adapted sports to the community.  Today, the Dreams in Motion curling season started.  It will run for 5 Saturdays.  Last weekend, a bunch of us met to clean and repair some wheelchairs that we are borrowing from a wheelchair basketball league.  Today, we got to use them!  All participants used a chair.  Future events include soccer and dance.  The group is working on raising funds to purchase hockey sleds to have a wheelchair hockey season.  Each sled is ~$800.

Disney on Ice

Mary Kay and Ava treated Megan and I to "Disney on Ice" tonight.  It was a lot of fun.  The little girls sat side by side on the edge of their seats and clapped and cheered at all the performances.  The big girls did, too.
Just under 3 months until our trip to DisneyWorld!
