swim meet

Megan had her 3rd swim meet of the year this past weekend in Minot.  She competed in the 200m Freestyle relay.  Her 50 in this was just over 48 seconds, which is her fastest 50 by ~ 4 seconds.  They took 7th in the relay in the 11-12 year old division (not enough kids to form a 9-10 team).  Aside from her 50m butterfly, she was faster in all events.  However, she was DQ'd in her 100 IM, 50 Butterfly, and 50 Breast because she didn't touch the wall with both hands simultaneously.  She did the 100m freestyle for the first time, and got a time for that event.  She had a lot of fun, and is showing lots of improvement from the beginning of the season.

Megan is now in archery through the shooting sports program.  We were able to buy her a used compound bow from another family in the program.  She will get to try that out this weekend.  The kids have also been having fun using their Christmas gift of passes to the trampoline park.

snow shoes

Megan and Don both got snow shoes for Christmas.  It's been a good year to have them.  A few weeks ago, we went to Ft Abe Lincoln park to snow show.  Megan also made a snow angel for the January State Park Challenge.

Growing up

Don and I were discussing how the pooch has 'settled down' quite a bit over the past 6 months. When I come home at lunch, he rarely comes to greet me anymore, as he does not wish to disturb his nap.  2 of the cats are even starting to accept him.

Ten

A bit late in posting pics of Megan's birthday.  She requested cupcakes instead of a cake, and requested Domino's pizza for supper. She got a swim back pack.
