thanksmas 16

we had our combined Thanksgiving/Christmas celebration in Park Rapids.  The boys, Holly, and I ran the turkey trot in the morning.  had fun opening gifts in the evening.  eric tried his luck bow hunting for the first time friday morning.  no luck!  Maybe next time.

keep swimming

Megan had her first swim meet of the year on Nov 20th in Minot.  We drove up the night before (after Jonathan's basketball game) and spent the night with Grandma.  We had supper with her at Maddio's pizza.
Not nearly as many nerves for this swim meet. It was much smaller than the last one she did, and all events were 50m, so it went pretty fast.

2nd game of 2nd tourney of the year

Lost the first game by 2.  Won the second by 23 or so.  Glad I had my continuous shutter on for J's baseline reverse layup he made.

Pics at the Capital

Took the kids to the capital grounds after Church this morning to snap some pics.  I was going to do it last weekend in front of City Hall, but....there was a press conference by the tribal chairman, so I didn't feel like messing with that mess.

I thought I had  a silly pic of Jonathan....but I was wrong.  I didn't want the dog to feel left out, so I took some of him when we got home.  I wuv him.

zombie run

Eric, Jess, Tyler, and I did ran the 1st (hopefully annual) Zombie Run last weekend.  I trained for weeks running up that stupid hill.  It's brutal.
You run either as a 'human' or a 'zombie'.  The humans get flag football flags to wear, and the zombies have to pull them off.  Eric finished with both of his.  I did not.

basketball resumes....

Jonathan had his first traveling tourny of the year.  His team won the first 2 to take the #1 seed from their pool, then lost in the semi finals by 3.  There was no game for 3rd place.  There was no school on Monday, so I dropped Jonathan off at the Y with a friend for him to work on his free throws, since he was a mere 1/6 from the line (and the shot he made was called of for a line violation from a teammate.  BUMMER!).  I hope he worked on his free throws...he may have just worked on his half court shots.

Halloween

Megan was again our lone tricker treater in the Family.  The boys chose to stay home to pass out candy.  It's possible they just ate the candy, too. There are really no witnesses.
Ava and Zoe joined us again.  Another beautiful night for trick or treating.
