Gingerbread house

Holly brought some gingerbread house kits for the kids to make.  They were a big hit!  The kids worked hard on them.  Kayla worked hard using all of the frosting up.  All of it.

We took 2 of the houses home (The van was packed since we brought the dog and had his kennel in the back).  I put both on display once we got home.  Rushmore was curious, and his curiosity knocked Megan's off the shelf.  There were tears.  Eric's has still survived so far.

4 wheelin'

Uncle Jason brought his 4 wheeler to PR for the weekend.  We took it to Whitey's shop for the boys to ride.  He gave each of the a quick tutorial before they started riding.  Eric went first.  I only had to give him the 'slow down' signal one time.  This made me worried for Jonathan.

Eric did ~5 laps before Jonathan got his turn.

Things were going pretty well for Jonathan at this point.  He was about 3/4 the way through his first lap.  Then he went in for his final turn.
For the record, the rusted out spots were already there...before Jonathan crashed into the pick up.  Most contact with with the tire.
The little scratch on the bumper was not already there.  Some people call it a scratch.  We call it a memory.
He was pretty worried at first, but I think the fact that the rest of us were all laughing so hard (since we knew he wasn't hurt) made him relax a bit.  We all had a 4 wheeler mishap story of some kind to share with him
Here are the tire marks.  He kind of sorta kept the throttle running after he made contact with the pick up.  It just made us laugh more.
His only visible injury.  We know it could have been worse.  He told Aunt Amy he needed a band-aid, and said he didn't want his Mom to know :-).

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving in Park Rapids, and celebrated Christmas at the same time.
We pulled the kids out of school after lunch.  They must have been working hard!  This was taken about 45 miles outside of Mandan.

Recital

Megan's piano recital was a few weeks ago.  She played "the bubble" and " music Box dancer".  We love Mrs. C!

Rushmore

But, the husband loves the dog as much as the rest of us.  Rushmore is a 9 mo old mutt we adopted from the humane society a few weeks ago.  We are in love.  We meaning the humans in the family.  The cats...not so much!  He loves a good belly rub.  He does not love a good bath- learned that last night.  He gets lots of walks each day.  We finally have a pet the appreciates Megan's affection.
