Day 5: From a high angle

This was taken at playground #5-Borden Harbor.  One of our favorite playgrounds.  We discovered it 4 years ago when we were trying to find a rummage sale. 

Day 4: Green

The kids love playing at the Eagle's Park, aka "The Dinosaur Park".   It is medieval/dragon/dinosaur themed-an eclective mix including Barney the Purple Dinosaur, viscious T-Rex riders, goofy looking dragons, and castles.   This goofy looking dragon is a favorite of Eric and Jonathan's.  They love climbing to the top of it.

Our visit to this park is also our 4th playground of the summer.  I'm sure we will be here many more times before school starts.

Day 3: Clouds

Sundays photo assignment was clouds.  It wasn't a very good cloud day with regards to cool shapes, stormy clouds, etc....I was limited to viewing from our backyard as well.  And, for most of the day, there were no clouds in the sky at all.  This is the best I could do.

 I converted the photo to black and white.  Below is the infrared B&W setting.  I really should figure out how to use my photoshop better.

If you have an above ground pool in your backyard.....

.....you might be a redneck

Tyler and Jess were kind enough to spend part of their annivesary with us today helping set up our redneck pool.   Megan and Huxely enjoyed splashing around as the pool filled.  It wore Megan out!  She crashed on the couch once she came inside.  The boys spent the afternoon at a friend's house, so missed out on the fun.

It took 7 hours for the garden hose to fill the 15' x 48" pool.   It will be in the 80s all week-hopefully the water warms up soon!

30 Day Photography Challenge

My goals for the summer are:

• Visit 30 different playgrounds with the kids (we've done 3 so far)
• Read 15 books (I"ve read 3 so far, and am half-way done with 2 others)
• Finally do things that I pin on pinterest that look fun (see below)
• Lose 20 pounds (no comment)

One thing that I pinned on pinterest is a 30 day photography challenge.  You are assigned a topic/theme to snap each day.

Today's assignment is a self portrait.  This is a picture of Megan and me when she was ~3 weeks old.  It is one of my favorites.  Megan loves it as well.  She normally keeps it on her nightstand so she can look at it when she goes to sleep.  When I broke my foot, she brought it out to the end table by the couch so I could look at it.

Lewis and Clark Playground

Thursday we visited our 3rd playground of the summer.  It was also our first school playground.

This past Spring, Jonathan's class teamed up with a 4th grade class to make a video as part of their application for a grant to use towards a new playground.  Jonathan was the videographer, using Mr. Rexine's phone as a video camera.  Mr. R then used iMovies for editing.  They must have done well, because they were awarded a $2,000 grant!

This is what we played on yesterday!  They had a lot of fun.  There are lots of spinny things on the new playground.  Collin and Trudy (human, not cat) live next to the school, and they were playing at the playground as well.  It was a fun time!
