Meet Buddy

Last Christmas, we hopped on the bandwagon with the whole "Elf of the Shelf" thing.
CLICK HERE to see our Isabelf.

This year, we (meaning I) thought we needed another elf.  It's not that I wanted to hide two elves each night, it's that I wanted my own dang turn to hide it.  All by myself.  No turn taking with the kids.  I have all these pins on pinterest showing fun ways to display your elf each day, but rarely got to do them because I had to share Isabelf with the kids!

Meet Buddy.  Buddy is not his official name yet.  We just have not agreed to one, so are calling him Buddy for now.  (You know....just like we only called Kacy "Kacy" for a few days until we could think of a better name)....

Buddy reading the Christmas Story to the Three Wisemen.  Note the Moravian Star displayed nicely in the basket with lights and garland in the background  (For you, Amy....)
Cotton Snow Angel on the kitchen table
Coloring in one of Megan's activity books
Hiding in the cupboard (The picture on pinterest had the elf inside the cup, but Buddy didn't fit inside our cups)
 Chilling out with Merida
And today, he is getting a nice, clean, close shave.

I plan to let the kids take turns hiding Isabelf.  That is, if I can find her.  She hasn't shown up in any of our Christmas decorations yet.  Maybe she is real, and returned to the North Pole?????

And...there are lots of "Elf Report Cards" floating around on Pinterest, where you can 'rate' each kids' behavior each day, courtesy of your Elf.  I am likely not going to do that, as it's hard enough to take the time to hide/display the Elf.
And....because of all the time and effort it takes to hide/display the Elf, I am not too optimistic about my Capture Your 365 challenge for the month of December.  Nor am I too optimistic about the 'Organize your home in just 30 days Challenge"....Nor am I optimistic about the "Washboard abs in just 30 days challenge", or ....or any other 30 day challenge on pinterest.  The other daily family challenges of feeding my family, getting Jonathan to basketball and Eric to Krav Maga, helping with homework, buying groceries, and watching cheesy Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel just take up too much time to do it all.
