Megan's least favorite part of the day is when we have to comb/brush her hair. Her hair gets quite snarly due to the curls that hide in the bottom layers. She prefers the 'pat' method of hair management-simply patting the hair down with the side of her comb/brush/pick so that is is no longer sticking up. I prefer the more traditional way of actually running the comb/brush/pick through her hair. I tell her she can cut it shorter again, since it was easy to comb when it was short last year. She says yes, then no, then yes, then no.....Tuesday, I had a haircut appt in the afternoon. I bring Megan with. We were early. Kristin was ready for us. We had extra time after my cut before her next appt....so....
One thing of note, when Megan is yelling at me when I comb her hair, she usually throws out "It doesn't hurt when Kristin combs my hair!".....She again pointed this out to me while Kristin was combing her hair, something along the lines of "See Mom, I told you it doesn't hurt when Kristin does it..." Apparently, the secret to pain free combing of the hair is a fancy scmancy brush, not a $1.99 Tinkerbell brush. Kristin gave me her fancy brush to use on Megan's snarled mop (she used the pat down method that morning...) and the brush just smoothed through her hair without catching on the snarls. Maybe I'll have to get one of those brushes.
