The test took 2 hours. Part of the training under Krav Maga includes physical endurance, since one may be expected to fight when they are already exhausted. It's also noisy! The kids are expected to scream a lot and loud while fighting. If ever attacked, they need to scream for help/attention while fighting, so this is practiced in class. Plus, the attacker may be screaming, so the students learn to fight/defend with the loud noises.
Eric led the Black Belt Oath at the start of class. He is dedicated. He is motivate. He is on a quest to be his best.
Palm strikes. ASAH!
Knee strikes. ASAH! Sensei needed some extra parents to help, so Don went to the mat. Eric loved it!
Scoop Kicks. ASAH!
Front Kick. ASAH!
ORANGE BELT! Sensei rubs the belt across each student's forehead before tying it. This is not to rub sweat from their forehead, it is to transfer their knowledge to the belt.
My favorite Eric face.....trying his hardest not to smile, but failing.
Way to go, Eric! It was 2:00 when the test/ceremony ended, so he was a hungry boy! Don, Jonathan, and Megan had to leave early to eat with Minot Gma and Gpa (Gma was able to watch part of the testing), so I told Eric I would take him to eat wherever he wanted. He chose 5 Guys Burger and Fries and ordered a Bacon Burger with confidence. He kindly shared his fries with me.
Next step, Purple Belt!
