Worm hunting

Our garden is now officially dry enough for the kids to roam in, which means worm hunting season officially began this afternoon. After 30 or so minutes of digging, we did find a lone, single, tiny worm. Not much organic fertilization happening in my garden, I guess.

And who was the lucky one to find it? I helped Reed discover worms in the back yard a few days ago. He was pretty excited. Then, tonight he pointed right under the back door and said "A snake." There was no snake, not even a worm. Got my heart going though as snakes are pretty much my sworn enemy.

Ewwww, I sympathize with the snake fear.
Jonathan is the one who found the worm. At our old house, one scoop of dirt would have 4-5 big worms, so it's not quite as fun to worm hunt here....
